Tunnel Grouting Material

ART-MZJ is a tunnel grouting material, used in the crown grouting construction with formwork, is composed of cement, mineral admixtures, fine aggregates, and admixtures, which are uniformly mixed in a certain proportion. After mixing with water, it exhibits excellent fluidity, pumpability, and non-segregation properties. Once hardened, it has a slight expansion characteristic and good bonding performance with the lining concrete.

Application Case

Tunnel-lining crown grouting behind formwork

In a mountain tunnel, ART-MZJ grout was injected through the crown formwork. Despite restricted space and demanding quality targets, the mix showed high fluidity, stability and a tailored set time, spreading easily and completely filling the gap between lining and rock. Inspection revealed a dense, void-free crown with excellent final geometry.

Metro-tunnel repair injection

For a leaking urban metro tunnel, ART-MZJ was chosen to restore integrity. The grout’s excellent penetrability and stability let it enter fine cracks and weak zones, achieving full closure. After injection the structure’s density rose markedly, water paths were cut off and overall waterproofing was significantly improved.

Usage Instructions

Mix grout at a water-to-solid ratio of 0. 18; stir for at least 3 min.
As soon as the paste is uniform, open the mixer discharge valve and let it flow rapidly into the holding tank; close the valve immediately and begin injection without delay.
Inject sequentially using a digital pressure gauge: pump gauge 0 – 10 MPa, accuracy ≥ 0.2 MPa; valve gauge 0 –4 MPa, accuracy ≥ 0.1 MPa.
When the next un-grouted port discharges paste of the same density as that in the mixer tank and the valve gauge reads 1.0 MPa, move to that port and seal the previous one. Stop grouting only after all ports are filled and paste of identical density emerges from
the highest point of the end form.
When changing or dismantling fittings after grouting, immediately seal the embedded injection tubes to keep them fully filled and prevent paste leakage.

Storage

It should be stored in a cool and dry place, avoiding direct sunlight, and kept in a dedicated warehouse or a fixed location.
The effective storage period is 1 year. It can still be used after being tested and verified to be qualified if it exceeds the time limit.
