ART-PE is a special admixture that generates a controlled internal expansion through chemical reaction. It is primarily used to compensate for shrinkage stresses during concrete hardening, thereby improving crack resistance and impermeability.
When the expanding agent is added to concrete, it takes part in an activation reaction. Under the restraint provided by reinforcement and adjacent elements, this reaction produces a limited expansion that counteracts the tensile stresses caused by concrete shrinkage. As a result, it prevents excessive shrinkage-induced cracking and effectively enhances the concrete 's crack-resistance and waterproofing performance.

Basement crack-resistant waterproofing
In a basement-slab project threatened by early-age shrinkage and leakage, ART-PE expansive agent was added to the mix. The additive offset shrinkage, cut crack formation and markedly increased slab density, delivering integral waterproofing without additional membranes.
Water-tank construction
For a large water-tank with extensive area and complex restraints, ART-PE expansive agent was batched into the concrete. It greatly reduced shrinkage-cracking risk, boosted overall density and impermeability, and remained stable throughout placement, meeting all site and QC requirements.
Dosage
Typical dosage: 8 –12% of the total cementitious material weight; adjust to meet project requirements.
Mix design
Minimum cement content: 300 kg/m3 ; the agent may replace an equal mass of cementitious material or the aggregate content may be adjusted accordingly.
Mixing & placing
Add together with cement and aggregates; extend compulsory mixing time by ≥30s. Cover and cure immediately after placing; curing period ≥ 14 days.

It should be stored in a cool and dry place, avoiding direct sunlight, and kept in a dedicated warehouse or a fixed location.
The effective storage period is 6 months. It can still be used after being tested and verified to be qualified if it exceeds the time limit.
When changing the type of cement or using newly delivered cement, a compatibility test should be conducted.
Do not use in combination with naphthalene-based admixtures. When using in combination with other admixtures, compatibility tests should be performed.
